Cronus Zen PS5 setup in 2026

What works on PlayStation 5 with the Cronus Zen right now, the two wiring layouts that succeed, and the console settings that have to be right.

The Zen works on PS5 with the right pad in the right port and one console setting changed. Sony's updates have repeatedly broken the older bypass wiring, so use the layout Cronus currently recommends, which is the first one below.

  • Zen LINK module on A1.
  • DualSense on A3.
  • Zen CONSOLE port to the PS5 by USB.

This is the layout with native PS5 support and the one Cronus maintains. If you own a Zen but not the LINK module, it is the piece to buy before anything else.

Layout 2: legacy bypass

Unofficial, and it can stop working after a console or firmware update. Use it only if you cannot get a LINK.

  • A DualSense on A2 for authentication, powered off.
  • Your input pad on A1.
  • On the PS5: Settings, Accessories, Controller (General), Communication Method, set to Use USB Cable.

The console settings that matter

  • Communication Method must be USB, not Bluetooth, or the console talks to the DualSense directly and ignores the Zen.
  • Turn off the controller's own Bluetooth pairing if the pad keeps reconnecting wirelessly.
  • After a PS5 system update, check both settings again; updates reset them more often than not.

Firmware

Keep the Zen on the firmware your script was built for. Our download pages state the version. If a console update breaks the connection, the fix is usually a Zen firmware update, and we post it on the download page and in Discord the same day.
